Why is dry mix mortar gaining popularity?
Mortar is an essential element of the construction industry. This is used for masonry, plastering, flooring, and finishing. Traditionally, the mortar was made by mixing materials like cement and sand with water. The proportion of sand, cement, and water determines the strength of the mortar. Since this mixture is usually mixed onsite by construction workers, it is hard to maintain the same proportions for all the mortar used in a building. Thus, quality control is a major issue.
Dry mortar mix is used in the same way as traditional mortar mixes. However, no onsite mixing of materials is required other than the addition of water. Thus, it is easy to use and waste is minimized. This mortar is also stronger and more durable as compared to traditional mortar mixes since it contains additional polymers.
